For years I’ve used Twitter as a way to grow, learn, and advocate for education and educators. I hope I can get that back here; that feeling of community and progression. #EduSky

My childhood means resilience, growth, and becoming who I am through love and struggle. It’s the foundation of my empathy and strength — a reminder of where I came from, what I’ve overcome, and why I lead with heart, compassion, and purpose today.

19. What is something from your childhood that you wish could come back?

I show whimsy as an adult by embracing small joys and playful moments—dancing in my living room with my dogs to my favorite songs, adding pops of color or sparkles to my day, laughing at the absurd, and finding magic in everyday routines that others might overlook.

The childhood feeling I miss most is the warmth and safety of being with my Grandma — her hugs, her laughter, and the way time felt slower and full of love whenever I was with her. It was a space where I felt truly seen and cherished.

16. What childhood feeling do you miss the most?

Growing up as the oldest in a single-parent, low-income home taught me resilience, empathy, and responsibility early on. It shaped my drive to succeed, care deeply for others, and advocate for those overlooked, while also fueling a lifelong journey to embrace my worth and voice.

15. How did your childhood impact your adulthood?
techysewell.com
My childhood was shaped by quiet strength — taking care of others before yourself. As the oldest of four in a struggling single-parent home, I carried more than my share, often in silence. I moved through the world feeling unseen, unsure of my beauty or worth, even as I held everything together.
