Home Haunt isn't even my favorite and even i'm like "this is some series best right here"

I can't think of anything else in this series that taps into true nostalgia like that. It made me smile a lot.

Also a lot of fantastic illustration work in it. Would buy prints in a heartbeat.

HOME HAUNT is easily the best in the film and a true love letter to Halloween. While it didn't land as my favorite, it is the short that nails what most probably expected from this installment. You'll wanna build something with your dad after this one. Violent, hilarious, and surprisingly sweet.

V/H/S/HALLOWEEN is a banger. Not the party movie '99 is, but a great variety of shorts and tones. COOCHIE COOCHIE COO is my favorite by far. KIDPRINT is an absolute nightmare that is darker than anything i've seen in this series. This one involves child kidnappings & murders. Be very much warned.

that said Casper Kelly is doing a segment and i already know that one is going to lean more comedy forward which I am extremely ready for. can't think of a single thing he's been involved with that i'd call a dud.

COOCHIE COOCHIE COO looks like an all-timer.

the V/H/S/HALLOWEEN trailer has some nasty, unforgettable imagery in it. really excited for the film next week. this one looks like it strikes the perfect balance of comedy and horror. the kind of stuff where the comedy/absurdism amplifies the horror rather than plays off of it.

When these films match the energy of the weirder, goofier Guinea Pig installments at least once thats when i know im having a good time. I need my extremely violent, stupid shot on home video shlock.

Hearing V/H/S/HALLOWEEN has some real sick in the head horror in it and i am so excited.

I hear this one is a real tearjerker and seeing as that's a lot of what i got out of The Outwaters, i'm expecting this to hit me hard.

very, very excited to see Tinsman Road next month. This is the first October since i was a kid in which i feel like i'm really celebrating and i'm so glad i get to catch a screening of this movie as a part of it.

waiting on a part, but once i get it, i will have a functioning sewing machine again!

don't really have any material to work with at the moment, but having the option frees me up a lot!

I hit one year in Chicago yesterday. Been real busy and stressed so i didnt really acknowledge it, but it's been a great year despite everything. I'm the happiest i've been since college and im working a job i enjoy. The world may be scary, but im carving out my own little space in it finally. K

budget DIY skillsets are extremely useful. they don't always result in projects that meet conventional standards, but like, it does free you up so much.

the few times i have had people shit on my paintings online, i remind myself that i managed to make a body of work of 50 paintings with next to no money or resources and that's a very useful skill i can take with me into this extremely bleak economic climate we're in.

i've honestly gone from "openai should be out of business" to "sam altman should be in jail"

It really was! There is like a direct path from getting into niche comics thru your blog, to going to art school and then meeting most of the indie comics and fine arts people I am friends with today.

Very lucky to live in a nerd house with a great comics zine/collection now.

Absolute madness, and basically destroys the international zine and records and indie comics mail order ecosystem in one fell swoop

Not at the top of our country's current atrocities and crimes, but god this is fucking stupid and shortsided

Same Hat was so insanely formative in my teen years you have no idea. Like legit would not be the same person if not for that blog and the cool stuff i got to see thru it. Glad to see it's still kickin 😊

It actually sucks how many people are pushing for a boycott of itch, which is already impacting queer and trans artists*, while not a single peep about steam or boycotting anything there.
