S. Finetti

This paper focuses on an important moment in Richir’s elaboration of the question of method and architectonic: his confrontation with Fink’s phenomenology and especially with Sixth Cartesian

5/5 End

So I am genuinely curious, is your concern with people wanting to avoid illness, or with specific behaviours and dynamics you are seeing in that particular online community?

The more we learn about viruses, the less harmless many of them seem. And in the UK, there is essentially no support for people with Long Covid. And at around 3% of the population, it is not rare.

I wish these articles showed more than just the extremes.

You once said to me in a conversation on Twitter that "all pathogens should be avoided". I understood that as a scientific statement, not something anyone could or should try to live by literally. However, it also does not feel irrational to avoid illness where possible.

For me, the important thing is following the evidence without letting anxiety take over. That is not always easy, especially when platforms like Twitter and parts of the CC community amplify fear and push people into extremes.

Just to say up front, this is said with zero hostility.
My family & I still mask in indoor public spaces. I am chronically ill, & my daughter (20) is 4 yrs into Long Covid. I am technically adjacent to the Covid cautious community, but I also have many, *many* issues with it.

Back from a very successful trip to the IOM speaking with locals and visiting archives to piece together historical accounts of the herring fishery. We stumbled across these beautiful title page illustrations of marine biological station reports based on Puffin island in the late 1800s

Got this email this morning from Springer about a recently published article of mine.
This is completely absurd, particularly since last week I reviewed an article w/ tons of fake references that were obviously AI generated.
There really are no adults in the room, just greedy unethical publishers.
