I understand why Europe is flabbergasted by the Peace plan in Ukraine; but what did they think was going to happen?

Trump's ideas about Peace plans could not have been clearer. Every Initiative in the Middle East since 2016 was based on protecting U.S. interests without involvement by local actors.

Here is the thing: No one can predict backlashes, public sentiment and turnout next year. But voter suppression and intimidation have real, measurable and lasting effects. So alot will hinge in how successful these efforts will be, and how united Republicans stay while receiving backlashes today.
not to bring the vibe down, but my guess is that after tonight Trump will probably double down on gerrymandering, voter suppression, and intimidation as tactics to disincentivize Dem turnout ahead of next year‘s midterms. (with margins like these, it won’t matter, but it’s a time to be vigilant)

I think an underappreciated aspect about young candidates is how much time they have to pursue a political career: Mamdani could serve two terms before running for another office, and still be one of the youngest candidates for Senate / Governorship. Less worry about him leaving for higher office.

Four wins for democrats with huge margins do not bode well for Trump - especially considering the ongoing unpopularity of the party.

As for the strategy debate: Both leftist and moderate candidates won, seems almost as if candidate quality and state composition matters more than universal strategy.

Short answer: Yes, but they have little interest in doing so

Longer answer: Some powers could pressure other powers into pressuring armed groups
