Today was a big day. I've tried for yrs to complete a #ShortFilm, but haven't been able to follow thru for various reasons. Today was my tech scout & a cast rehearsal for a short I've written & am directing called 'Happy Birthday Harold' - we shoot NEXT WEEKEND. It's really happening. 🥹 #ScriptSky

I was SHOCKED. Later told a writer friend & w/out missing a beat she said "If he had that kind of power over your career, he'd have a better career himself." 😆Facts. Tl;dr if someone IS a great addition to your professional life, no one will need to TELL you. You'll know & YOU'LL pursue THEM. (3/3)

We had to work out his picking stuff up from me to officially sever the relationship & he sent me an email saying he'd just pick the stuff up & go. No talking. 🙄 It also said "don't think about writing about this on your blog or anything, or you might find it difficult to work in this town." (2/3)

Sometimes that power/influence is overestimated by the person themselves! Had a bad exp as an asst to a writer yrs ago. Was w/him for about 3 yrs & the ONE time I had a complaint that I brought up (politely in an email), he reamed me out for "dressing him down" & "how dare I" & he fired me. (1/3)
