My condolences to everyone who was doing their own take on Frankenstein and immediately scrapped it on hearing about the del Toro version. My period lesbian Turn of the Screw adaptation salutes you from underneath the gigantic mic Flanagan dropped.

This is why I will play Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit or Scrabble and nothing else.
I used to think I didn’t like board games or a lot of games really, then I found out that I just don’t like having to learn how to play a game from people who are bad at explaining it. And because some don’t know, you can play a game very well AND be bad at explaining how to play the game.

Once upon a time I scored a bright pink cashmere Gap hoodie for maybe $20 on sale.

Tonight I idly googled women’s cashmere hoodies and they’re all Sad Beige and $100+

If you rebooted RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK today with the same temporal margins, it’d be set in the 1980s. Neo-Nazi punks would have their faces melted by the opening of a forbidden arcade cabinet at the KB Toys at your local mall. Indiana Jones would wear a Hawaiian shirt and Chuck Taylor sneakers.
We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

Holidays quit being fun to celebrate after I turned 12 or so if we didn’t visit extended family — having dinner with your parents is just another day as an only child, see also having a “family birthday” when there’s nothing special about you getting all the attention — and now as an adult without+

If you want or need a refresher on how to make and use our wishlists, check out this thread!

And let us know if you need help! We're not the Butterball Hotline, but our team does have some helpful turkeys. 🖤🖤🖤
In order to create a wishlist, you'll need to create an account on our website.

There are a few ways to do this, but the fastest is probably clicking the little heart next to any listing you see - our site will direct you to a sign up page and then you can head right back to shopping!

I was at the ER the night before Thanksgiving/early hours of Thanksgiving last year with a family member, and we overheard two doctors call that block of time "The Night of the Mandolines" due to the sheer number of sharps injuries during meal prep.

We've finished uploading the Black Friday goods. You can see them, but they aren't purchasable until noon EST on Friday.

I like my collection of things. I wish I'd gotten to do more forging, but I'll have time before the holiday shut off to get it in.

The reason that we reporters are focused so intensely on the L'affair Nuzzi is that, as Olivia notes, it is a basically apocalyptic scandal in the most literal sense of that term: a dropping of masks. It's acting as confirmation of every hideous story anybody's ever told about political journalists
this was bad before, but these are the most troubling and serious allegations you can make about a journalist. if they’re true, i genuinely can’t think of a worse scandal in the history of political journalism. devastating to our industry, to public trust as a whole, and to everyone in its orbit

read this instead of giving Lizza a dime for coming out with all of this not when it could have prevented a fascist coup but when it embarrasses his ex
To summarize. According to Lizza, Nuzzi, in addition to fucking multiple subjects without disclosure:

1) outed a confidential source
2) fed source information to RFK
3) damaged other people’s reputation through anonymous posts on Reddit
4) advised RFK and repeatedly acted on his behalf

CURSED. I was so enjoying sleeping all the way through the night but I’ve been waking up twice a night the past few nights because the house gets so warm during the day that it doesn’t cool off enough at night to sleep despite what temperature it is outside.
