I bank with Chase but only because they bought out Washington Mutual. Kind of like how I’m with TMobile because they bought Sprint. I don’t change service providers unless absolutely forced.

Mom: Do y’all have Dollar General on every corner or is that a Southern thing?
Me: It’s a Southern thing and a poverty thing.

The number of businesses/chains my mom thinks I should know but are actually regional are legion. Also I haven’t seen a single bank with a name I recognize.

I feel this way about Brendan Carr as well. Something is actually physiologically wrong with these MAGA folks and I think it’s that immersing themselves in hate and anger is making their bodies overproduce Bad Chemicals, and that then shows up in their physical appearance.

A neighbor’s cat kept getting loose and coming to my folks’ yard. She got attached to my mom before the neighbors wised up and kept the cat safely inside. Mom had become very attached and the cats got her through her mother’s illness, so when Mama Cat arrived she was READY.

This is Mama Cat, the pregnant stray who birthed four of the cats who are currently non-feral and living in my parents’ house. It’s her doing that my parents are cat people now.
