my impression of my 24 hour shift, that I have had a few chances to briefly sleep during but couldn't sleep anyway, is that it feels surprisingly similar to when i can't sleep at night anyway. i thought i'd be miserable, but instead i just feel kinda... eh? it's way less bad than i was afraid of

CRRT can mean "continuous renal replacement therapy" which is a pretty advanced intervention for someone who is very sick. this patient also has kidney disease so it was extra confusing! there's too many abbreviations in medicine

seeing a patient for hospital follow up. discharge summary said they will need CRRT on discharge. i was like HUH and then my chief informed me that stands for "complex care review team" here. bruh these abbreviations.
