Great point. And let’s not forget: For those who are excluded from the dominant culture, religion and tradition (while possibly harmful) exist where that cultural and economic nostalgia doesn’t.
Well said. And, there is something peculiar missing from this narrative. Can you guess what that is?…
“an American socialist who wants to trample on the valued theft and freedom to exploit that millions of Americans were coerced into fighting and dying for.”

There, we fixed it. You're welcome Dan Dow.
At tfp.C, we are committed to telling this story and supporting the people who are living it. We invite you to join us on this journey. Read our analyses, engage in our discussions, and find your own way to put Solidarity in Practice.

Don’t just oppose what is, build what could be.
3/3 The challenge now is to translate the energy of those elections into the sustained, relational work of building a more just and equitable society.
2/3 It requires moving beyond the transactional politics of winning and losing and toward a more transformational politics of mutual understanding and respect.
1/3 The real work of liberation is the (R)evolution or Relational Evolution that happens between elections. It’s s the slow, patient work of building trust, finding common ground, and creating new coalitions for change.

It’s easy to get lost in the anger and frustration, to blame one side or the other for the gridlock. But the problem isn’t the players, it’s the game.
We have the resources, the ingenuity, and the capacity to build a more equitable world. What we need now is the collective will to do it.

What if we treated the mutual aid networks that spring up during crises not as temporary stopgaps, but as permanent infrastructure to be supported and integrated into our social fabric?
What if we created interstate compacts to maintain essential services when the federal government fails?
What if, instead of endless partisan posturing, we used citizens’ assemblies to deliberate on complex issues like the budget or climate policy?

Solidarity doesn’t require us to think alike, but it does require us to take responsibility for creating a society where everyone can thrive.
It’s a long and difficult road, but it begins with a simple act: refusing to accept the story that we are powerless, isolated individuals. We are not. We are a collective, and we have the power to build something new, together.

What if cities created “Transition Funds,” co-managed by workers and local government, to help communities navigate the shift to an automated economy?
