I thought surely this hadn’t happened. Nope. It is. We are eating our own vomit stage of America.
AOC to @pabloreports.bsky.social : A swastika is one of the clearest symbols of hatred in all of humanity… to remove that designation… indicates a possible collaboration with those very elements, which I think is genuinely frightening to any American.

Congrats to Kate and Hari for a very nice story and wonderful collaboration!

TMPRSS11B is a target of KLF4 and part of a chemo-refractory hillock-like state we see in squamous lung cancer. This gene contributes to acidified TME.

More coming on the hillock state after addressing FIVE reviewers!

I am pleased to present a new paper from my lab led by Hari Shankar Sunil showing that the transmembrane serine protease TMPRSS11B promotes an acidified tumor microenvironment and immune suppression in squamous lung cancer, OUT NOW in EMBO Reports👇:

If you are a genius, and your greatest achievement is at age 25, and nobody can name a dang thing you did after that, for 72 yrs, I think maybe you just hung out with the right woman at the right time, and maybe you were just a jerk. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think it would be fascinating to study the (oh, 70 million+) Americans who will do constant mental gymnastics just to maintain their beliefs despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
Humans can think rationally and weigh the evidence
Whether other animals can also do this has been unclear

Chimpanzees rationally revise their beliefs 🏺🧪

Results suggest this pattern of belief revision was guided by explicit representation and weighing of evidence

I’m so sorry I’m laughing inside. From what I see in America, HUMANS don’t even rationally revise their beliefs. 🤣🤣🤣

Notice how it’s somehow the government’s job to legislate a few Bible verses on human sexuality over our entire country, but it’s suddenly “not the government’s job” when it comes to the +2,500 Bible verses calling for a generous use of wealth that prioritizes the poor.
