The way I usually put it is that in Judaism, what exactly happens in the afterlife is a question for mystics to ponder, not laypeople to worry about. It's not that teachings about Gehenna and HaOlam HaBa are inaccessible by any means, but so are Christian teachings about angelology.

I don't know. Possibly contempt. We're not there yet.

This is different from, e.g., the Abrego case where there was a human that had actually been illegally kidnapped. Here, no money has been misappropriated yet, it's all about threats and contracts. They can't arrest someone on a "what if".
