What's a recent ADHD tax you've paid?

Want to learn more about ADHD time investments you can make to help support your executive function?

Check out my episode "ADHD Tax vs ADHD Time Investments": youtu.be/Su7L6t5taAw

#adhd
🤣🤣🤣 This is so me! If I start a story, buckle up. You're in for a ride.
This is 100% me .. hahaha I feel so sorry for my husband sometimes. He gets this from me ALL THE TIME! #ADHD ... (side story FYI, I'm meant to be hanging out my sheets to dry - alarm went off already, but got side tracked with ADHD memes...)
Do you struggle to feed your family as an #adhdmom?

I do!

Decision making, motivation, & task initiation are all EF involved in the meal planning process. No wonder we struggle.

Creating family favorites list has helped me so I don't have use as much dopamine figuring out what to make each week.
I could retire early with the money I spent on planners I barely used over the years...🤣 #adhd
I didn't choose the #adhd life, it chose me. Fortunately I'm an experienced Ad-Libber.
Motivation, task initiation, prioritization, and time management are all executive functions.

So it makes sense that those things may be a struggle for those of us with #adhd.

But with practice and accountability, we can start to actually follow through and see progress on our goals.
Hey! Stop eavesdropping on my brain! 🤣

🧠: hey, remember [important thing]?

me: crap, yeah… but I can’t do anything about it now, I’m focusing on something else

🧠: but if you don’t do it now, I’m never going to remind you about this again

me: …fine, I’ll do it now

🧠: hey, I just remembered another thing…
I often remark about irony of the hoops us ADHDers have jump through to get a diagnosis and our medication. I am the WORST at remembering anything.
Long to-do lists can feel incredibly overwhelming for #ADHD brains.

Could be due decision making about what to do?

Or prioritizing what to do first?

Or maybe it's because none of it feels fun or exciting?

Making simpler list can be one step in helping quell overwhelm & initiate tasks.
What are you grateful for today?

Did you know that practicing gratitude can help boost your dopamine and serotonin levels?

Or that it can help you rebound from RSD quicker by helping your brain to reframe negative thoughts?

Who knew gratitude could be so helpful for your #adhd mindset!?!
Yep. Feels very "Wednesday after holiday break and 2 snow days" appropriate. 🤪
The more you tell yourself something, the more likely you are to believe it.

Which is why regular positive affirmations are so important for us #adhd entrepreneurs and #adhdmoms looking to reframe our mindset in a more positive way.

What's your affirmation for today?

Please tell me you'll be addressing all of this on TMYK tonight...😉
I started keeping mine right next to my alarm clock to I take it first thing. Otherwise, I have to count what's left in the bottle to figure it out. 🤪
What's the worst thing leftover in your fridge? 😬

Take a few minutes to clear out any of the holiday leftovers and other food from your fridge that you know no one will eat in your home.

Decluttering the fridge helps #adhd moms with meal planning and helps us find what we have when we need it.
If you've got decluttering on your 2025 Bingo card, try this simple, #ADHD friendly hack this weekend to help jumpstart your progress.

It was helpful for me was when a coach said to think of it as a workout for your brain. Every time an intrusive thought comes in and I recognize it, I have a chance to practice refocusing. And that helps strengthen that muscle for when I need to refocus after distracting thoughts in the real world.
I couldn't wait for my kids to get older so we could vacay instead of presents for Christmas. 🤣
If you've got big plans and goals for your self or your business in 2025, you need to spend time figuring out WHAT you're going to do this month and WHEN you're going to do it.

Scheduling's important bc #ADHD brains love to make plans...but often forget to see how they collide with other plans.
