Finished S2 of #RingsofPower over the weekend and I have to say I'm def. a firm fan of the show now. S2 was much stronger & mostly avoided the moments of weird/wobbly characterisation and plotting that marred S1. It was a pretty compelling "What If" alt universe version of the story. #Tolkien

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

It is both lovely and right that Americabs are distressed about other people around the world suffering, but the extremists are in power at home, welding themselves to the levers of power and want to impoverish, deport or eventually outright murder huge chunks of the American people.

I can't remember a bigger "WTF??" moment in international politics than just now reading Trump's comment that the US will take over and ethnicly cleanse Gaza so he can build Atlantic City in the Holy Land. It's so on brand and yet so surreal.

That's an interesting idea. I do think there's more that goes against that reading that for it. EG, he's a genius at lying and manipulation, expert at reading the intentions and minds of his opponents to prey on their weaknesses, and dissembling his true intentions to further his goals.

You have to recognize the pattern and name it yourself. This is what Raphael Lemkin wanted us to do.
