Our biggest shortcoming is our lack of imagination.

We struggle with paradigm shifts. That’s why we’re not acting on the climate crisis. We can’t imagine the ship really is sinking. That we have but hours to prepare. We still think we’ll be in NY harbour by Wednesday.

Allowing it is not the same as actively endorsing, promoting, pushing it everywhere, all the time.

Gambling is highly addictive. It destroys lives. Keep it legal, keep it above ground, but for the love of God stop normalizing—nay, glorifying—it.

And this is what still bothers me about American progressives blocking me for daring to say that we see the US as a cautionary tale:

The whataboutism. With all due respect, very few countries have consistently committed such heinous crimes while claiming to be a beacon of righteousness #ElbowsUp
Reminder that the Nuremberg Charter's definition of "crimes against humanity"—which was used in the Nuremberg Trials—includes only acts committed during a war of aggression. This was partly because the US was concerned that Jim Crow segregation would otherwise be considered a crime against humanity.

How many ICE agents in the Chicago area have criminal histories?

I'm no even joking. How many?
I'd bet real money that it's a shit load more than 16.

Historians know this.

As do sociologists—Critical Race Theory was/is a very reasonable attempt at tackling issues that have never been properly addressed. The backlash didn't happen because the woke went too far, but because the just never went far enough.

It happened because we let it.

This is why the left loses.

Too busy shooting itself in the face. This, from a climate journalist and activist. Fucking hell.

Good luck with everything, folks. I quit.
What was actually said is that progressives throughout the world DO see the US as a cautionary tale. It's why Poilievre didn't win the Canadian elections.

But that was too hard a pill to swallow, evidently. When your first reflex is to block allies who politely disagree, you're part of the problem.

This got me blocked… Wow.

American patriotism really is deeply ingrained. To the point of being a cult-like psychosis—even amongst some of its so-called progressives.

And then they wonder why things are the way they are.

It’s been the CPC’s modus operandi: discredit journalism, science, facts. Overrule reason with emotional responses to fabricated scandals.

In an age of unregulated social media where bad actors pay to promote false narratives, the recipe works.

What are we going to do about it? #CdnPoli

But these are designed to manipulate the user via hyper-personalized profiling and track everything in the commons. Not just creepy—dangerous.

Sound efficient?

His lawyers say it's retaliation since the CBP agent hit with the sandwich was not injured.

The federal agent who shot Rev. David Black with a pepper ball at point-blank range faces zero charges.
