Helping the Titanic rearrange its deckchairs since 2025. Not the solutions the world needs; those the world deserves.

We take ugly tweets & memes & themes and try to make 'em purrdy. We also refer to ourselves in the third person plural—for credibility.

Need a reason to rejoice about the coming of the new year?

Capital Economics called it in 2024.
Just one thing left to do now:

Make it so.

To those who say:
"I'm still on X because they are on X"

A quick reminder:
People are still on X because you are on X.

#BeTheChange you want to see in the world. The change we desperately need. Please pass it along to your twitter feed.
Why are Amy Proal @polybiorf.bsky.social David Putrino @putrinolab.bsky.social & so many others more active on X than here?

Why are we still legitimizing malignant platforms? Knowing what we know about the societal damage they're causing (see: how MAGA won; misinformation, apathy). Esp given that:
Scientists Leaving Elon Musk’s X are Driving Growth on Bluesky: Study
With rising engagement and originality, Bluesky is fast becoming a go-to platform for science communication and scholarly exchange.

This is everything. As we all continue to cower behind our own self-interest, the world burns.

Problem being, none of us will not be spared by any of it.
We saw on Friday elite solidarity rather than professional solidarity when Trump called a female reporter “piggy” and not a single one of her colleagues came to her defense—presumably because they didn’t want to threaten their own proximity to power.
Moral rot in elite journalism is killing the whole field
The Nuzzi/RFK Jr. mess and the revelation of Esptein's journo pals lay bare a profound moral absence at the heart of our free press.

JFC.

It IS an obvious typo, because the sentence makes no sense with the current parenthesis placement. In an otherwise IMPECCABLE piece.

Also, "long tradition of correcting women"?!? Why not make it about race too? Why stop there?

I thought we were fighting for the truth—WTF is happening?

What was actually said is that progressives throughout the world DO see the US as a cautionary tale. It's why Poilievre didn't win the Canadian elections.

But that was too hard a pill to swallow, evidently. When your first reflex is to block allies who politely disagree, you're part of the problem.

This got me blocked… Wow.

American patriotism really is deeply ingrained. To the point of being a cult-like psychosis—even amongst some of its so-called progressives.

And then they wonder why things are the way they are.
#ElbowsUp, Canada. With allies like these, who needs enemies.

Watching the World Series, one thing is clear: North American pro sports REALLY need to up their chanting game. It's not just pathetic, it's downright irritating.

Meanwhile, in Hamburg… (FC St. Pauli)

Drones returning to their launchpad after a show in China. Now imaging scaling these up and weaponizing them. (Because I'm sure the military has thought of that).

In the future, this is what the blitz will sound like. And it is terrifying.

My grief is less due to his skill than to how decent, funny and insightful a human being he was. For all the darkness in the world, he was a flicker of light. He will remain so, in my heart and mind, as long as I live.

Oh, I know alright.

My first thought was devastation. Immediately followed by anger. #Kramnik, you narcissistic piece of shit. "What did I do?" Bullied someone who'd grown up looking up to you. Made baseless accusations that haunted this tender soul for over a year.

I grieve. I rage.

He did more than that for me: his wit, brilliance and humility consistently restored my faith in humanity.

He was what we need more of in the world. Desperately.
