After one of the most genuinely lovely and creative halftime shows I’ve seen, the AI ads are especially jarring.

Repost with a photo of yours that would make a good album cover if you’d like.

Timeline cleanse: I love Jordan's photos. This old church in his original nighttime post also has a community kitchen that prepares and delivers 500 hand-cooked meals weekly to the unhoused in Minneapolis. Quiet strength is all around. What is your church doing? I bet a lot more than people know.

I remember feeling relief a few months ago to find only a few Flock cameras in Minneapolis over at the U of M.

Since then, the number has exploded, especially in high-diversity neighborhoods.

Now it seems likely ICE is using these to track people.

The iconic chimneys in the distance are a key part of Minneapolis industrial history. The Southeast Steam Plant was built in 1903 to power the Twin Cities Rapid Transit streetcar system. Restored in 2000-5 and converted to natural gas, it now provides efficient district energy to the U of M Campus.

It has been an especially cold winter in Minneapolis.

But we’ve kept each other balanced on slippery ground, stayed vigilant through frozen eyes, and shouted our demands into silver clouds of steam, rising up into the long dark night.

I hope warmth will return to us soon.

I know some have seen headlines about ICE reassignments in Minneapolis and are wondering if it has had any impact on our streets.

From what I have seen and heard today tactics have remained unchanged.

Now is not the time to check out. Please stay vigilant and keep showing up.

ICE has been back at it with their illegal activity today. Abducting multiple neighbors in the Ward, physically assaulting observers, coming into businesses threatening that they will be back to arrest people for no reason.

If they come back today, they’re going to have to go through me first.

I had an awful feeling we would be in for some chilling countermeasures after demonstrating our collective resolve yesterday.

They came quickly.

I’m horrified to hear what happened in Minneapolis this morning.

They want to break us. Don’t let them.
Negative 10 and we still show up. I love my city.

Initial report is that two observers got into a shoving match with eight agents, one observer was wrestled to the ground, and then an ICE agent pulled out a sidearm and shot the man on the ground five times.

My contribution (a little late) to the #ICEOUT #ICEOUTMPLS comic posts. My experience with ICE in my city so far, keeping the language as vague as possible to protect the groups on the ground helping people here.
