A while ago, I watched an #AutChat on AAC and didn't really engage bc I'm pretty hyperverbal and had never thought to look up communication tools. But it made me aware that options existed, and I started to think about my difficulties speaking during chronic migraine flare-ups.

As we enter the "is [x] a Christmas movie?" season, I cast my vote for "every movie except the one you're thinking about is a Christmas movie."
A picture of Oscar Wilde with the text, "every movie is a Christmas movie except Christmas movies / Christmas movies are about power" Astute readers may recall that what he actually said is "everything is about sex except for sex. Sex is about power." Which makes a lot more sense but doesn't work for this post.

#AutChat A5: Years of therapy have taught me meditative practices to identify what's going on with me, I've spent time studying so I can recognize when someone is having An Emotion and how to ask for more information if I need it (I usually need it). I wear a watch that tells me when I'm stressed.

#AutChat A4a: Oh, very much so. In myriad ways. My wife is very emotional, so I have difficulty understanding her perspective on things and she has difficulty understanding mine. We both put in effort on that, but not everyone in my life does. My lack of emotional depth has been cited as an issue
