I am deeply uncomfortable with the thought of flying when our already overstressed air traffic controllers are working without pay. Republicans - and many in the media - seem to assume that is not stressful for average people who depend on those paychecks to pay the mortgage and inflated groceries.

It was also legal in Texas for insurance companies to drop you when time came up to pay for your policy because the companies decided each time you paid you were getting a new policy. That way any illness developed during he previous coverage could disqualify you as a pre-existing condition…

Bush and Cheney also supported the war and said that we would have won it if we had just put more resources into it. Of course both of them did everything they could to avoid serving in a war they — unlike Trump — supported. They all think other people’s kids should be dying for their policies.

Trump agreed to the release of 5000 Taliban prisoners in exchange for 1000 from the other side. That’s Trump’s “Art of the Deal”. The same media that jumped all over Biden for the messiness of the withdrawal — because withdrawing when you have lost usually goes really smoothly — gave Trump a pass.

Ezra Klein needs to get out of his East Coast bubble more. He thinks brining in some anti-abortion candidates will help Dems despite the fact that both polls and referenda even in red states show both Dems and Republicans strongly support for abortion rights.

Also for decades the right has had well-funded propaganda machine so the media has normalized and paid far more attention to them than they have to the majority of us which makes them seem a much larger part of our society than they really are and has given them far more influence than they deserve
