Weird how when I read back over my own writing everything seems to flow so naturally on the page, but I can still remember how much I struggled getting it there. It's such a weird disconnect, how much effort it takes to make it look effortless.

I'm planning to start going to weekly knitting nights at my LYS again. The ladies there tend to be the activist type and it's dangerous for me to engage with current events without a tangible sense of optimism. Hopefully they can direct me to a place where I can be useful.

I need to free myself of the notion that for a story to be "legitimate" it has to look like other stories I've read. I just need to write the story I wish existed, regardless of whether or not other people would want it to exist as well.

I'm usually pretty live and let live when it comes to merfolk takes, but one idea that's always baffled me is that merpeople don't/shouldn't eat fish because it's basically cannibalism. It makes no sense. That's like saying it's cannibalistic for us to eat cows and pigs.

What gets me about brands posting AI shit is, like...do they not even look at it first? Like you're not just scamming artists out of work you nixed the quality control department, too? Just generate and post it without checking to make sure there's the right amount of hands or THE RIGHT LOGO on it?

I will never understand, like, older dudes who exclusively date early 20-somethings and vice-versa. I'm in my 30s and any time I see someone fresh out of their teens I'm like "Oh. You're not done yet. Back in the oven with you, you are dough."

So I downloaded American Truck Simulator to try and babystep my way into dealing with my driving anxiety.
So far it has accomplished the exact opposite and I'm more convinced than ever that I should never be behind a wheel.

Before I started Matthias's face-up I had a decent grasp of how faces work in my head. But now that I've been hands-on with a 3D surface? I 𝘨𝘦𝘵 it in these brand new ways. Every mistake has been like a new "aha!" moment of understanding what makes skin look alive

Acutally there's a lot of stuff newer fic writers need to learn, first and foremost is that YOU CANNOT EARN MONEY FROM FIC. DO NOT CHARGE MONEY TO WRITE FIC!!!
