Drawing well is a skill that's easy to prove and instantly commands respect because universally, every human has drawn something at some point and knows how difficult it is. Growing up fat/unpopular I could still earn some respect because I could draw well. Ai assholes want that without the work.
there’s a long discussion to be had about how AI dipshits are /like this/ because they wanna cosplay as artists SO BAD and it’s not even because they wanna BE artists, it’s because they see artists as like, social media success symbols? Idk someone smarter than me can put it better

Manifesting that excommunication news cycle in 2026.
In newly leaked audio, Peter Thiel admits he urged JD Vance to ignore Pope Leo XIV on moral questions — including the ethical development of AI.

He goes even further, branding Leo “the woke American pope” and suggesting he’s a tool of the Antichrist.
NEW: JD Vance’s Top Donor Suggests Pope Leo XIV is Antichrist
In a leaked lecture, Peter Thiel says he’s urged Vance to ignore the pope on moral questions — and simply pray for him.

Walked across the street to the library to see if they had a book before deciding if I wanted to buy it, like a wise person. They didn't have it, but it's still a good habit to cultivate.

Dudes on here going back for more apple pie just to be sure they don't like it.

"I hate this stuff," says man on his 5th mouthful of pie and sad there's no 6th.

Last reposts: reminds me of people who are likely to retire with money but are desperate for any job because they have no idea what to do with themselves otherwise. I feel there's a future of semi-wealthy retirees doing entry level jobs not because they need them but as a work-therapy LARP.

Communities getting together to play chess or dominoes or warri or mahjong in the park or at clubs aren't captured by the crude metrics by which we measure our countries' success. So we don't value them, we don't optimise for them - most of us don't even realise they exist.

Of course I would say this, but we need to talk about the moral & ideological case for play & leisure more than ever. So much political discourse - especially from the super-rich - assumes we ought to construct society around forcing citizens to spend most of their one, unrepeatable life working.
