More hours does NOT equate to more productive. We have tools to measure productivity. It's never perf, but gives a good idea, especially if you're solo.
I want to praise to the masses that we should all incorporate some from of agile to our workflow.

I say this with all the love in my heart because Blue Prince is incredible - working 80 hours a week for 8 years very likely made this game take longer to make than without crunch.

To be clear, there isn't really any sign that "Pokemon Z" was planned to happen. The teraleaks showed tons of cut content from X&Y, but nothing about a separate game. No builds, no project names. It doesn't mean that there was never a plan, but the plan didn't make it to advanced stages.
