Not sympathy seeking—I really don’t need anyone to feel compelled to say “so sorry for your loss”—but my dad died five years ago today, and it’s a challenging thing to register. Last year I barely remembered it, but today I was like ‘holy shit, five years.” I wonder if the disbelief ever passes(?).
