I coaxed the original JVC HDD back to life on this Zenith. This is one out of like 10 ive seen work...
November 18, 2025 at 12:02 AM
Does anyone have a zenith parts machine I can get? The motherboard is dead in this one and I'd really like to see it run. Code execution is seemingly random, suspecting a bad gate array

The Packard Bell Spectria is back up and running. Wasn't just the caps, the LM1203 was also bad! First time encountering that one.
November 15, 2025 at 11:15 PM
It's going to be one of those days again. Caps are leaking on the Packard Bell Spectria

I can't believe I was able to track down the OEM transformer for the commodore 1084 monitor

First time going to the System Source swap meet. That was fun! Brought home so much free crap which is a bad idea as someone with poor impulse control😅 I did notice it primarily focused around them/their inventory versus the parking lot sellers

This DASDEC and FM Transmitter was also at the hamfest today. It went quickly, but i thought about getting that transmitter to sail the seven seas

Went to a local hamfest swap meet today, and i FINALLY got a decent score on a CRT tester

FINALLY! I can wrap this project up. The seriously blown up Macintosh portable is now fully operational. All of the bad parts are in the bag

Repair of the century right here. The one part in my stash I've had since a kid has finally proved useful... Fixed the Macintosh portable inverter with a transformer from a scanner

I have never seen a floppy disk drive this worn out. Of course, it has inconsistent decoding of tracks beyond 50, and almost no capability of reading track 60+. Just look at that head wear. Epson SMD-1000.

If the AI bubble could pop already, that would be greeaaattt.... dotcom all over again imho.

I think I'm going to focus on my own projects this weekend instead of customer repairs. Time to take a look at this guy I just picked up. CompuAdd 316SL

Good old leaky capacitors and a broken cam gear on a shuguart sa455 floppy drive. Not sure if a 3D print file exists
