It’s wild how much insurers rely on you being lazy in order to jack up premiums. BudgetDirect wanted to raise our premium by 50%!
In about 10 minutes I was reinsured with my previous insurer, with a premium that was cheaper than last years.
Don’t negotiate: just change.

Seriously astonishing how different the original and print versions of this OpEd are. I know I shouldn’t be shocked at how brazen this corruption is, but holy shit @latimes.com. I’m sure they feel no shame, but should be so embarrassed.
My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.
