An obsessive, manic trash-goblin, I collect things, I create things, and I write through things.
Pinned
A few years ago, when I lived in the CA desert, I went outside to clear the thorny tumbleweeds from my yard, and when I went down the breezeway between my house & fence, I stepped into a void.
There was no wind. The birds went silent. Everything stopped, and I've never felt so alone, so alien--
This is a confusing fusion of my childhood, and I like it.

Submitted my script to big, important people.

Relieved it's out of my hands, but as a secret control freak, I'm also *slightly* losing my mind. You know how it is.

Luckily, December is a hectic month, and I have plenty of distractions!

Does everyone call it out when it happens in film, or just my goofy household? #filmsky #scriptsky

Silly past-me.

*NOW* I'm in the home stretch. Rewrite done, I'm 4 pages up (boo!), hoping to carve it down with a quick edit pass before sending it off to producers after Thanksgiving.

Apart from the page count, I'm super happy with it! Tentatively optimistic! #scriptsky
I'm in the home stretch of this deep edit, then I hope to come up for air.

I miss you, Internet People.

I'm in the middle of a deep rewrite on a script I fought HARD to get to 110 on the last draft. I'm working off producer notes, and I know they'd love a script under 100 pages...

And so far I've added 6 pages.

I keep telling myself it's too soon to lose my mind, there's plenty to cut... #scriptsky

IT'S THE PHONES.

For months, maybe years, I thought my eyesight was deteriorating, or my nails were getting in the way, causing more and more typos via mobile. I cant get through a thought without a "thr" or something equally stupid, and all this time I've thought it was me-- but it's the phones!

I was pretty bummed to learn that I was passed up, again, for the cool kids club (the Dead List).

Today I'm stoked to be in development with a producer on this script.

Not everyone's going to get your work-- That doesn't mean no one will. You just have to get it into the right hands. #scriptsky

I dont buy into numerology, but the number 23 was always important to my family and a connection to my parents. It's kind of a sweet thing to catch on a clock every now and then, but this month I have a highly anticipated meeting on the 23rd at 2:30, and I dont want to get my hopes up, but ☺️🤞

AI being shoved down our throats everywhere is exhausting, but I believe it's genuinely a positive signal. Tech companies aren't doing this because it's successful technology that is making them money. They're doing it because it's not and they're not. This is an extinction burst, not real growth.

One thing I've been doing for my mental health is watching people (on YT) watch my fav movies for the 1st time.

Watching a gaggle of dudes in their 20s discover My Neighbor Totoro, or your average (not screenwriter-brained) couple watch and discuss The Blair Witch Project is eye-opening &wholesome.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

Keep in mind that this is someone who - while making a film about a man who brought a steamboat through the Andes - actually brought a steamboat through the Andes.
Werner Herzog has slammed the use of AI in new cinematic releases, saying that films that make use of the technology “look completely dead.”

“There are stories, but they have no soul. They are empty and soulless.”

Amen to that!
