Happy #PostboxSaturday, folks! It’s that time of the Christmas celebrations when I feel somewhere between Father Christmas on the left and the little boy on the right. Delighted to have remembered it’s Saturday! #Twixmas 😂🎄📮🍫🥧🛌👍

It’s always magical to see a Christmas post box serving a school community. This one receives Christmas cards and letters to Santa from the children at Angel Oak Academy in Peckham. 💌

‘Twas the #PostboxSaturday before Christmas, when all through the land
Not a happier event than from this merry band;
The pictures of postboxes to show that we care,
In hopes that these beauties will always be there.

Merry Christmas, everyone! 😁📮🎄🐭🧦🎅

Postcards and Christmas cards too.

How to explain why we all need to write letters? Many do already but if not, the joy of handwritten correspondence from someone real, somewhere different, with life experiences and knowledge new to us, is something everyone should experience. Be brave. Write to a friend today. ✉️

This week our uni kid phoned me about an essay and those 'blank page' worries so I said 'just tell me the essay out loud'. I recorded the conversation for my kid to transcribe and it worked! The *thinking* has to be there before the writing, otherwise you're putting your brain out to pasture. 3/3 😘

The thing about writing is it's about *thinking* rather than about transcribing your thinking. That's a big reason why I'd never use AI to write (among many other reasons). I want to do the thinking! I've got a couple of anecdotes about this in case anyone is interested. 1/3 🧵⬇️
