Yeah basically our prime minister is nominated by the president, who then forms the government, & the custom is (it isn’t constitutional law) that you name a prime minister from the party who is of the party who got the most seats in parliament, which Macron (ofc) didn’t do, as the left won 💀

Not that he came back as he was elected twice in a row as president (facing Marine Le Pen in the second round), but yeah he is here 💀
France has a very powerful president constitutionally, France is a country with an incredibly strong, centralised and powerful executive 💀

We had a prime minister for a whole 14 hours, which is the shortest government in french history, before he resigned, only for him to be nominated again right after 💀

I am working on an essay right now but I have to pop in to announce how humiliating it is that the very same French prime minister who abdicated after 14 hours (shortest government in french history) just ended up being nominated again

I have two legal essays to write every week, so that’s taking a lot of time 💀

But it’s good work, and for a good cause too — Initially, my strong suit legally was European Union law, but environmental and urban planning law have been growing on me like crazy

I have recovered well from bronchitis too and even hopped back on the saddle and headed to the mountains, this time with all the lads who are here to make sure such natural spaces are protected

Not giving a lot of news through being extremely busy in law school and working on commissions on the side

Things are going so so well though: getting good marks from the get-go, people in my environmental law masters are GEMS and I love being in my element so much again

Was dealing with a big bout of social anxiety while being sick at home but had my uni friends show up to send over all the lectures I am missing and go off about how they want me to come back soon and that they miss me in class

Thankfully since it’s bacterial bronchitis, it’s a round of antibiotics for me that tends to act pretty quickly, it’s so much better than a viral version where all you can really do is wait 😭
