AOC: This has now become what we feared most about ICE for a long time—that it would be used as an anti-civilian force with no accountability. At the end of the day, what we saw today was a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.

“Can’t believe NYC elected a Muslim as mayor.”

In truth—a Black American Christian woman swearing in a Ugandan American Muslim of South Asian ethnicity as his Syrian American wife holds the Qurans he swears in on, all while standing on the steps of a subway station—is the most NYC thing imaginable.

Imagine the bottomless greed required to take this position.
Billionaires are considering cutting or reducing their ties to California by the end of the year because of a proposed ballot measure that could tax the state’s wealthiest residents.
A Wealth Tax Floated in California Has Billionaires Thinking of Leaving
It’s uncertain whether the proposal will reach the statewide ballot in November, but some billionaires like Peter Thiel and Larry Page may be unwilling to take the risk.

This is wholly predictable and just good litigation practice.
President Trump’s spiteful defamation suit against the Pulitzer Prize Board may backfire, as the latter is now demanding Trump’s psychological records, prescription medication records, and tax returns in the discovery process. trib.al/LUCScTR

The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

This has sunk my mood for a long while now, because it’s a LOT. It’s quite visible in the wild. Insert that GIF of the one cat slapping the other cat and that’s half my interactions with my normie Dem friends.
makes you wonder the extent to which the loser behavior of a lot of Democratic electeds is just downstream of the loser behavior of apparently a bunch of Democratic voters

Full story: AOC tweeted a poll showing her beating JD Vance. It's a sign that she has larger national ambitions. But when asked why she did, she simply said "Because JD Vance is a goober, man."

I realize everyone knows this but I have to say it. The answer is that maintaining the view that employees are subhuman, vastly inferior to the rich and therefore undeserving of even the basics is necessary to maintain the system whereby billionaires hoard wealth, resources, and power. That's why.
BILL BURR: “If someone’s working 160 hours a month and can’t make their rent, you’re not paying them enough. Maybe you should just be worth $900,000,000… How does a CEO take a f*cking 8 figure bonus and none of your employees have dental insurance?”

As a Hoosier, it's adorable that they think our roads are paved.
Republicans announce the entire state of Indiana will be defunded if they do not obey Trump by gerrymandering their state.

“Roads will not be paved. Guard bases will close. Major projects will stop.”

Exactly. It's disingenuous to call it a purity test to say "You shouldn't be beholden to right-wing billionaires pushing right-wing policies and right-wing candidates."

No, Progressives Don’t Want “Purity.” They Just Want Some Courage.
When left-leaning Democrats complain about corporate influence, it’s not a “purity test.” It’s a demand for a better politics.

Breathtakingly accurate in its entirety.
Pete Hegseth’s entire personality is “overcompensating for a tiny dick.”

But his behavior with regards to the boat bombings is next level pathetic.

An analysis, including his personal history.

Hegseth's "warrior ethos" is cowardice
He calls himself the "Secretary of War" and plays a tough guy on TV, but in real life he's a major weenie
