This is funny because a recent post from them about Milwaukee's infield featured a post of CJ Abrams, and Luis Rengifo is much more fitting

PECOTA week is rounding out. I love it every year. Find every piece in one spot: players and teams it likes and dislikes, why and how it's useful, its challenges, looks at remaining free agents, outliers, and rookies who could make teams out of camp:

It's the 2026 Baseball Prospectus Annual! In my hands! @baseballprospectus.com

I put a lot of effort and care into writing the player comments for the Twins and Blue Jays. I'm super proud of this book, and I'm confident you won't find a more comprehensive 2026 MLB preview anywhere.

ICE’s pending $30 billion budget exceeds the military spending of nearly every country, including Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and Iran.

ICE + CBP funding for 2026 would total $66 billion, higher than all but 7 militaries worldwide.
After a string of ICE murders, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries proposed reforms — and $11 billion more for ICE.

Including reconciliation bill funding, the Schumer-Jeffries plan would give ICE a $30 billion budget, higher than all but 15 militaries worldwide:

Just thought about how the ball came out of his hand and specifically which finger had last point of contact. There are 13 minutes left in the football season but it's baseball season now

A whole new generation is learning what it is to see their beloved Pats get pasted in the Super Bowl. Fathers will argue with sons about whether it's worse to get beat by Nick Foles or Sam Darnold. Countless holidays will be ruined. It's beautiful

Rat behavior from a rat league and a rat corporation
MLB TV will remain $150 a season but look at this BS they’re trying to pull. You cannot “buy” MLB TV without buying ESPN Unlimited, but they give you a one month free trial, and then the hope is you forget to cancel since you don’t need ESPN to have MLB TV, only to initially purchase.

Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

What I especially enjoy about Krasner's comment to Shapiro is that using "wimp" that way is peak Philadelphian. It comes with th same edge as something utterly filthy and/or reprehensible

It's been a while since I've bumped the Bat Signal--your direct line to our fantasy staff, who you can ask any question about your team, and get a tailored answer your leaguemates will never see. Especially helpful for draft season:

It's the start of third base week, meaning I've got you on the state of the position, which is less a solid state and more of a gaseous idea:
