This #Marburg outbreak in Ethiopia has been declared over. The country went 42 days — 2 incubation periods — without finding any new cases. The final count of confirmed cases is 14. Nine of those people died.
Ethiopia is responding to its first documented outbreak of Marburg virus disease (MVD). As of Dec 16, 14 confirmed cases have been reported in the South & Sidama regions, with 9 deaths and 5 recoveries. Small numbers, but a high fatality rate.
