CDC insiders say between 1,100 and 1,300 employees are being cut. Even government filings cite 1,100–1,200.

Entire programs may disappear.

The editors of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) were apparently fired today.

The precursor to MMWR began in 1878 to address emerging public health threats rapidly.

We are not “great” without it. We are vulnerable to threats from sporadic foodborne illness to bioterrorism.

Three weeks is such a long time, especially for a kid. Vaccines help keep children healthy and in school. “Unvaccinated children who were exposed to the virus will be “excluded” from school for three weeks, the length of time it could take for a measles exposure to cause symptoms, Bell said.”
Hundreds of U.S. students quarantined amid measles outbreaks
At least 270 unvaccinated kids are staying home from school as measles continues to spread nationwide. "Expect more," one expert said.

What the DOTS trial of Staph bacteremia tells us:
• Dalbavancin d1 and d8 vs daily IVs for WEEKS
• No left-sided IE/CNS/prosthetics
• Dalba not superior by DOOR endpoint, but similar clinical outcomes.
Big implications for inpt care. More here! #IDSky tinyurl.com/3hjzkt96

NEW: Last night, the Senate passed a bill that reauthorizes addiction treatment and housing services for recently incarcerated people.

This is a crucial step toward ensuring people coming out of prison have the support they need.

This is beautiful in the help and horrifying in the need. Anne Frank was a tragedy to be prevented, not a goal.

Good man, but my god how can anyone not see this as heartbreaking?

(Though amazing community. Something we should all think about because anyone of us may be asked.)

And Sotomayor says
"I agree with JUSTICE JACKSON that the President cannot restructure federal agencies in a manner inconsistent
with congressional mandates."

That is, Sotomayor is saying mass firings — mass RIFs — are lawless.

And let's be real: of course they are.

Quote from 2025 Nobel Peace Prize presentation:

We all agree: following Andrew Wakefield's advice to "break up the vaccines" is unnecessary, pointless, & will only prevent kids from getting vaccinated

Trial results indicate Jynneos vaccine performs well in young children

The immune response in children aged 2 to 11 years was non-inferior to that observed in adults, and 2.5-times greater in children aged 2 to 5.
