Donald Trump’s ICE is breaking the law and violating Americans’ rights.

Oversight Dems have launched a new immigration enforcement dashboard. We will hold this Administration accountable.

ICE & CBP are terrorizing North Carolina immigrants. Read @tinavasquez.bsky.social’s story for @prismreports.org at bit.ly/melticenc detailing the current immigrant raids in the state & the powerful community resistance growing in response.

I was looking at protest photos from NC and if this isn’t the shadiest, most southern ass sign… I love you, Durham!

Yesterday, through a flurry of interviews & phone calls, @tinavasquez.bsky.social wrote this excellent report on the immigration raids in cities across North Carolina. She spoke to community members about the devastation & fear, as well as the love & resistance.

One of my family members lives in Charlotte, he called yesterday to let us know that ICE is hanging out at the Home Depot in the parking lot harassing contractors and their labor workers. He noticed it yesterday when he was inside Home Depot. People around Charlotte are pushing back.

You can read my reporting on the NC raids today. People of course are terrified, with many undocumented & mixed-status families staying home or otherwise laying low. But all around them community organizers, educators, faith leaders, and local residents are mobilizing to help. It is deeply moving.

I went home to Southeast L.A. to cover the immigration raids there. And this week I've covered the raids in my adopted home of NC. Nothing--and I mean NOTHING--will give you hope like speaking to immigrant organizers and locals fighting back.

Amazing @femmfeministe.bsky.social and I wrote about why resourcing journalism is important, especially right now!

Maybe I'm being too critical, but this NYT headline really grates on me. It assumes the reader doesn't know anyone on SNAP, or isn't on SNAP themselves. Which, I think, says a lot about who is writing the news and who the NYT sees as its audience.

So, the actual headline here is: In violation of a court order, the Trump administration plans to starve millions of families during the holidays—and it’s forcing states to comply

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!
