A stylish fashionista out shopping, rocking an 80s glam outfit. She was 24 when this picture was taken, and she thought she owned the world. By age 28, however, it was clear her modeling career was going nowhere. She was temping at a law firm and sharing a flat with five roommates. At 30 she met a guy, to her mother’s relief. He was cute and sweet, and an addict. Two years later he OD’d, and she was a widow at age 32. Seven long years went by. She worked at the firm in the day and bartended at night. She swore off guys. She saved her money, squirreling away every penny to buy a little place of her own. In the country. Maybe with a tidy garden and an orange tabby that batted around a ball of yarn while she read the morning news. She was working the bar one Saturday night when a man in a hoodie came in. Without a word he pulled out an assault rifle and began firing. Thirteen people died that night, including the fashionista. She was 39.

another fun fact is that "drops of jupiter" was apparently inspired by Mr. Train Guy's mom, who had died of cancer a year earlier

didn't know this until today, which makes its role as a plot device in this movie about someone's mom dying of cancer make way more sense lol

i wouldn't call "drops of jupiter" a guilty pleasure, exactly. i'm not ashamed to admit i like it

i just really love some things that are trash! trash can hit the spot

also p.s. i am emphatically NOT a Train fan and i hate that "soul sister" song, don't get it twisted... ;)

if i were a little older and video editing software were more accessible then, i'd certainly have made an AMV to "drops of jupiter"
