As someone with a low profile, I don't get many followers, and half of those I get, I block immediately. Here's what will get you a fast block:
- women who mostly post photos of their big boobs (I'm gay, you idiots)
- crypto/finance bros

She'd forgotten that when they named me, they felt the rhythm was better with the Japanese name first. I agree, and I'm grateful that she and my dad paid attention to that kind of detail.

Going by middle names is a PITA though, because filling out forms always result in people using your first name

My parents gave us an anglo first name and a Japanese middle name. The Japanese name is a nice marker of our heritage but all of us go by our anglo first names. Except. When I was 13 my mom pulled out my birth certificate and found that Kim is actually my middle name.

One day, saner heads will prevail and US governments will look back on this time and admit that a fascist US government encouraged its authorities to murder its own citizens. For now, those in charge will continue to lie, but the rest of the world bears witness and none of us are fooled.

The very concept of "open carry" freaks me out

Oh I got it. Scroll to zoom in

Also, some stories are just long enough that there is a scroll bar but no way to scroll, because if you try to move the cursor to the text window you lose the story

This is cool, but is there any way to keep track of them? They are so dense that I glimpse one but the mouse moves slightly and I can't find it again.

What weird synchronicity. I haven't had to buy socks in years, and just a few hours ago I had a sock spring a hole

With Cuba in Trump's sights, I would be wary of travelling there right now. It's the first time I've been concerned (I've been 12 times since 2005).

Who was the former agent interviewed? (I'm in Canada so I can't view the video.)

Canada's CTV aired a very good interview with retired FBI special agent Dan Brunner.

To that end, you are invited to a virtual town hall discussion of civil defence on Thursday, Jan 22nd, at 8pm Eastern. RSVP here: bit.ly/cd_meeting

In court the ringleader was ordered to stay a certain distance away from all Loblaws properties, but that restriction had to be relaxed because you can't go very far in Toronto without being close to a Loblaws property

Years ago, activists did the same at Loblaws but took the goods straight to the big donation box at the front of the store. Everyone was all smiles until one staff member realized the goods were not paid for. Then there was controversy over the photos in mass media of Santa being arrested
