The minimum wage isn’t just a number – it’s dignity, security, and opportunity for millions.

Today’s ECJ ruling sends a strong message: The minimum wage is a cornerstone of the social Europe we’re building.

We’ll never stop fighting for workers’ rights and fair pay. 💪🇪🇺

Anyone know these people pictured?
@snig.bsky.social Probably just a huge coincidence, that two people are now wanted in connection of a racially aggravated assault on someone with Pepper spray, at a time we see a lot of anonymous accounts advocating for Pepper spray as a self defence (It's illegal)!

I got back to my office after the vote last night and recorded this. There's no way to sugarcoat what happened. And my fear is that Trump gets stronger, not weaker, because of this acquiescence. I'm angry - like you. But I choose to keep fighting.

The "appropriate response" is to broadcast everything that Trump did and said on that appalling day for American democracy and then to tell this moron to sling his hook.
I might be wrong, but this stinks of Pharage involvement.

I suspect the Germans are a long way ahead of Brits on this one.

They're certainly far ahead of the UK govt, which is still pathetically pretending that it's business as usual, rather than planning for the changed reality.
That’s a lot.

67% of Germans say that “When in doubt, we can and should no longer rely on military assistance from the US.”

The BBC should tell Trump to get stuffed and that they'll see him in court.

Trump said every word he was broadcast saying - and even if he didn't say them all together, the sentiments they expressed were consistent with the rest of his actions that day.

The very reason Trump and far RW in UK (in cahoots?) want to see the BBC destroyed.
"Britain has a single source of news consumed by most people." Also MANY people in the USA have a single source of news - the BBC! It is the most-trusted news source in the USA after The Weather Channel - truly. Brits would be insane to give up the BBC. It's a world leader.

Anybody who had a vision to bring American levels of political, cultural and social polarisation to Britain - whether their motive was clicks or cash, ideology, boredom or anything else - would make it their top strategic priority to abolish the BBC, or to damage and diminish it at the very least
Quick thread on the BBC and the political and societal significance of recent developments:

One of the main reasons the UK has historically been so much less polarised than the US, is that Britain has a shared source of information, consumed and trusted by most people regardless of their politics.

But court records, interviews and other accounts from people close to Vought show that DOGE’s efforts were guided, more than previously known, by the OMB director.

“I can’t imagine that the DOGE team knew to target all these little parts of the government without Russ pointing them there.”
Vought holds one of the most powerful jobs in D.C., and he’s used his position to wage a quiet war to change the shape of the entire U.S. government.

This is full of mildly astonishing revelations about right-wing influence at the BBC, but foremost among them is the fact that he was advised that writing for the New Statesman was effectively unacceptable but doing so for the Spectator was fine - indeed, advisable. I am flabbergasted.
