The only one who can get away with doing this.
QRP with your skull art! 💀
Bird Flu moving on to killing all the mammals as well as all the birds, scares the hell out of me.
I hope someone is still preparing for the inevitable major outbreak with humans, because we sure don't seem to be in the USA.
What's on your October playlist?

Found a very interesting piece of artwork featuring a pterosaur (dimorphodontid?) and a Teleosaurus preying on...platypuses?

No seriously, that's what the caption says. This is from the 1910 book "The Book of the Animal Kingdom: Mammals" by William Percival Westell.

#FossilFriday...So what to highlight. I know a few fossils from pond in Monitor Butte Mbr. of the Chinle Fm. near the head of Red Canyon, se Utah. Lacustrine sites deserve more love! A small crustacean, a possible beetle electra, coprolites (100s present at margin of site), with plants and fish.

A super bit of Swift conservation in Felixstowe where this building hosting multiple nests went under scaffolding. The builders listened, adapted the scaffolding to permit Swifts to access their nest sites, kept the nooks open & now added Swift bricks to help the colony expand.
The Jacqueline Kennedy garden (1965) is gone. The Warren G. Harding Magnolia tree (1947), the Franklin D. Roosevelt Magnolia tree (1942), the Laura Bush Silver Linden (2008), and the Jill Biden Yoshino Cherry tree (2023) all removed and perhaps gone.

C/2025 A6 (Lemmon)
This comet was discovered in January 2025 by the Mount Lemmon Survey. It's a bright comet, visible through binoculars! It'll be back around and be visible from earth again in the year 3175, so make sure to mark your calendars 😂
The garden by the East Wing is gone now too.
