Turns out falling down the stairs on your ass really hurts your ass!

Since we had to cancel thanksgiving in terms of people coming over, and someone else was planning to bring the mashed potatoes, I’m going to have to make do with the potatoes we have in the house from the CSA and I have no idea if they’re appropriate for that context. I just can’t NOT have potatoes.

Pottery really has the power to break your fucking heart at the final hurdle

Also because things weren’t shitty enough, I just fell down the stairs because my socks were too slippery. No serious injuries but my tailbone is super angry now

Welp we were supposed to host thanksgiving this year but we’re both still testing positive so we had to cancel.

What shitty timing.

Now I have to figure out how to make stuff for us that other people were going to bring. At least I don’t have to bother making max and cheese.

I had a dream I was picking up my pottery from the latest kiln load and everything was wrong, ugly, or missing. Better not be prophetic! 😆

This kinda leads into what’s been driving me mad recently. Lots of talk at work about finishing out year end assessments. And my manager is all “just have copilot write it for you, that’s how I do my comments” and I when I said “I will never have AI write something for me”…
I'm already an above average writer so any supposed advantage to using an LLM goes out the window. I am not an above average artist, but that's why I pay artists when I need art. Remember I have it in my contracts that all work on my books (art, editing, translation, etc) has to be done by humans.
I imagine LLMs are less useful for expert wordsmiths like Mr. Scalzi.

Only tangentially related, but this reminds me how much I hate Cockney rhyming slang. Like way more than is reasonable. It’s hard to even articulate why. Like why do we need to find increasingly convoluted ways to be obtuse? It’s not fun or funny it’s just maddening.

Unpossible!

But it would certainly be a Linnell bop.

Hey my pottery isn’t THAT rustic ;)
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

I have put on real clothes instead of pajamas 🎉

My whole mental plan for getting back on track with my saggar prep hinged on me starting to test negative today and now I’m still testing positive and I want to cry from the stress of trying to figure this out.

Dino mug!
There is a fossil teapot at the Nelson Atkins that this was partially inspired by though they look nothing alike 😂 the checkered teapot companion to the fossil one is probably one of my favorite pieces of all time.

Long kitten has been stuck to me like superglue through my very rough night and morning.

I’ve at least made it through to the other side with seemingly decreased symptoms. I’m sure she’d like to take credit.
