Everyone has an opinion on VHS Halloween, so:

The first two pieces and the framing arc are pretty bad, especially with the AI. I was ready to dismiss, but the following three segments were all good for different reasons. A tonal mess (complimentary), can’t really recommend it, but not a waste.

The original is the last horror that made me leave the lights on at night, so I’ll always have a soft spot for that. All of those tools are much more familiar today, but its kinetic energy stays intact imo.

It still doesn't have a standout moment, but the physicality is massive now. I'm so annoyed that it doesn't sound like much otherwise, and it'd fall flat if I tried to play it to anyone else casually, even though I'm really enjoying it now.

This isn't usually a question I have, I'm used to needing baseline requirements to meet minimum needs of a genre.
I previewed the new Blawan in the shower w/ a decent BT speaker and thought it was mid-tempo tepid, especially disappointing after previous EPs. Headphones now, and it's doing the job??

Don't need real speakers to appreciate lyrics or musical virtuosity, but they *are* needed to fully transmit any work of sound.
If there are technical pre-reqs to get the frisson, is that a sensory crutch or the nature of the medium?

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.
