The writer of this RINGO NOM’D INDIE COMIC (and a very dear friend of mine) is a Syrian Refugee who has been through more continuous hardships than I have space to list here; constantly navigating visa applications, unstable living conditions, predatory landlords (limited options as a refugee).

Anas just wants to make comics and live a normal life like what so many of us take for granted. Backing this campaign will help Anas to take the next step toward freedom and autonomy, helping to fund a move to another country with more stable employment options. This is truly one of the most important comics purchases you will ever make.

Middle Eastern and North African comics creators are some of the most underrepresented in the comics industry of the western world. Anas isn’t running a GoFundMe to support this move, and is not asking for charity. We are in a crisis of sell outs. With recent stark examples like Riyadh festival and respected filmmakers embracing AI. I hope it kills these dinosaurs and makes room for new voices who to create and succeed. We need to make shame hurt more.

All right, just turned in the last strips of my second year on FLASH GORDON. That's 730 installments in the bag -- appearing in a rough average of 1.5 panels per strip, I've drawn Flash about 1,095 times. Still takes me a couple tries to get his hair right. Tomorrow we start on year three ⚡

I've also been drawing Naomi as a supporting character in my webcomic. It's gonna be heartwrenching to draw her for the foreseeable future (maybe I'll take a short break? I dunno), but Naomi's spirit will continue to live on in the comic. I just really thought we'd have more time with her.

Here's some photos of the famous Naomi the Dog. She loved cuddling going to the beach and had a huge personality for such a small one. She will live on in the hearts of everyone who met her. Rest in Peace to the best friend I could ever have.

Thanks for the condolences and kind words, everyone. I just buried her (wrapped in her favorite blanket.) Man, that was hard. My wife took the day off so we can grieve together and hopefully be emotionally prepared/stable enough to tell our daughter after school.
