As my tinnitus & hearing loss/sensitivity remains with a day of antibiotics left & no ENT appointment in sight, I head into 2026 wishing I'd recorded more rap & hyperpop music this past year (I did do a Dn'B LP.) Still, if this was my last single for the foreseeable future, it's a solid bookend:

Yeah, the shipping companies have a truly perverse incentive to encourage tariffs. Lets them fatten their margins dramatically while pointing the finger at someone else and giving none of it back to the actual employees doing the clearance work, assuming the process isn't nearly automatic anyway.

Like, if folks really want me to start crossposting on another one, put it in the thread here & maybe that'll be a good way to pass the time as I wait to see if I'll even be making music the way I used to, but it's nice to know Bandcamp ain't dead yet. Also, there's always the Internet Archive:

This year may be my last on DistroKid for a lot of reasons (if it's not paying for itself, why bother?/I may just be putting out less music going forward,) but so long as Bandcamp continues with this spirit, it doesn't yet look like I'll have to flee to another OMD yet again any time soon.

Today in Discord musings:

The Platonic American Suburb - An infinite subdivision of McMansions along winding, maze-like streets, connected by a infinite lane highway to the infinite parking lot for the infinite Walmart, the anchor tenant of the infinite mall, so large it's both alive and dead.

Update: Meta has shut down three game studios and laid off all employees.

-Armature, the devs behind the VR port of Resident Evil 4
-Twisted Pixel, the studio that made Deadpool VR
-Sanzaru, which developed Asgard's Wrath 1 and 2.

My name is Scott Adams, Dork of Dorks:
Look on my strips, ye nerdy, and despair!
hollow dilbert, its bloodline severed by the hand of god in holy retribution, lay in abandoned ruin

Scott Adams' most immediate legacy for me is probably how my partner confided in me that they couldn't get into Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney and the associated yaoi because they thought Phoenix just looked like a bishonen version of the pointy haired boss

Shame that it's an international problem:
Ukip have submitted a new logo and slogan to the Electoral Commission, swapping the £ pound sterling symbol for a cross, that looks very much like it is modelled on the Iron Cross used by Prussia & Germany 1871-1918 and Hitler's Nazi regime from 1933-45

The UPN show was better than the comic, and at some level I think that chaffed Adams, yet he was also mad (in a racist way IIRC) that it "only" got 30 episodes when so many other prime-time animated series only got 13 with only 4 making it to air, waiting years for full runs on Adult Swim later.

Former NYC Mayor Eric Adams accused of rug pull as NYC Token crashes

I mean, to be fair:
Bro you invested real life money with the Noid that’s not on the Noid that’s on you
Eric Adams, former NYC mayor, launched a memecoin (cryptocurrency) today. He marketed it as an “NYC Token” and used media appearances and his social media to promote it.

Within hours, Adams then drained its liquidity, apparently having scammed investors out of $3.4 million—a move called a rug pull.

Given that Scott Adams said in one of his books that he felt he only got a shot in the newspapers because Larson and Watterson retired, and that he felt he willed that opportunity into existence, clearly, it's time for Powerup Comics to be syndicated in the wake of Adams' passing.
