Myrtle: How do we find the vampire?
Devlin: We wait for him to come to us.

Devlin: Vampires are predictable creatures. If you pay attention to their attack patterns, you can pretty much always guess where they’ll strike next.

Jane: Well, last night he attacked your ostrich, and the night before, he attacked Fanny’s ostrich. Your rooms are right next to each other… And the next door after yours...

Fanny: Is fathers!
Devlin: Well done!

Devlin: That’s it! Tonight, I’ll hide in Lord Mugthirst’s room, and wait for the attack!
Lord Mugthirst: Now wait just a minute!

Suddenly Devlin has a cannon next to him, loaded up with wooden stakes, which bristle out from the muzzle haphazardly.
Devlin: Then when that cadaverous bastard shows his face… Boom! He gets an assload of the Stakemaster 2000!

Jane: Don’t vampires have certain rules? Like they can’t enter our house if they’re not invited?
Devlin: Oh, please, Jane. It doesn’t work like it does in the stories.

Jane: Ah, so they can’t be repelled by crucifixes?
Devlin: Who said anything about that? The crucifix thing is true.

Hester: Can you really stop them with sunlight? And garlic?
Devlin: Ah, well, that lore is also accurate. Vampires are repelled by both of those things.

Jane: I also heard that they can’t cross running water? And if you throw a handful of rice, they’re compelled to stop and count the grains?
Devlin: Yeah, those parts are essentially correct.

Hester: Do they have seductive powers? Can they turn into a bat?
Devlin: Actually yes, those are real details.

Jane: Are there any other differences from their depictions in fiction, aside from the need to be invited in, which is often omitted?
Devlin: Just that part.

Chug is rarely in the spotlight, there has not been a definitive Raven arc, Dorkwinkle has been underutilized since he had babies, we keep forgetting Alix exists, and there are lots of things in our current political moment that would make a good Moobs arc.

Devlin has rounded up all the residents of Sipswill Hall.
Devlin: Good evening everyone. I don’t want to alarm you, but there is a vampire on the loose in this house.

Mugthirst: A vampire?!
Myrtle: What’s a vampire?

Devlin: An immortal undead corpse who spends his nights chugging blood the way you or I would chug cheap whiskey straight from the bottle, usually via bites to the neck. Often with an array of demonic powers.

Fanny: Dear me! Will it harm us?
Devlin: If you’re not careful. Sometimes it will transform you into a vampire as well.

Devlin: Don’t worry though, I’ve tangled with vampires more than once before. I know all their tricks, and I know how to put them down. You’re all completely safe with me.

Devlin: Unless you’re the vampire, of course, in which case I will kill you.

Hester: Look, I even have a Laputan scarf to match my Gulliver’s Travels faction! Should I get you a Houyhnhnm one?
Devlin: I’m good.

Hester: Imagine… A Laputan and a Houyhnhnm… Possibly the most forbidden romance in the Gulliverse!
