Well it's not a biosphere, but the Moon is one place that was both untouched and pristine, before the space age: now there are nearly 200 tonnes of human #spacejunk left on the lunar surface. Including bags of feces. Pretty much the opposite of 'Leave no trace'

Fortunately, Linux OS is "capable of breathing new life into older machines that Windows 11 won’t touch." For your perfectly usable older computer, the #Endof10 guide helps Windows 10 users install Linux.

According to NYT, it only costs $3.89 to drive your EV 100 miles, in Oklahoma, when charging your EV at home, a savings of -$6.95 compared to driving a gas car.

But in practice, on the highway using fast chargers, the cost goes up +$4.78

A decade ago #Cowspiracy kickstarted the conversation -- film over-stated its case. The scientific consensus: livestock contributes 15%-18% of greenhouse gas emissions.

Meanwhile, "reduced-meat diets could feed the world without causing environmental breakdown"

People seem remarkably calm about Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant running on emergency generators. One has already failed. This is unprecedented in modern history, a nuclear facility in a warzone, cut off from the grid, relying on backup to prevent catastrophe. 🚨
I heard somewhere he plans to release a live version of the song. It was much better in concert.
there was also cover by Diana Silvers of Folsom Prison Blues (Johnny Cash) at the start of the evening, as well as her original songs June, and Lullaby for George (Harrison)
Heard his song "Petrichor" for the first time last night, live at The Criterion, in Bricktown, OKC

Global music star Jon Batiste sympathizes with the growing number of people avoiding the news these days, but he has an antidote: Talk about climate solutions and “bring people together. People power is the way that you can change things in the world.” buff.ly/5koeesm

update: "The sea levels around the city are rising by about half an inch every year as climate change warms the oceans and melts glaciers. The city itself is sinking even faster than that, with some sections of the levee system settling by almost 2 inches each year —"

“The Trump administration’s decision to withdraw these lifesaving pollution-reduction measures isn’t just unlawful — it’s incredibly nasty. The U.S. meat industry slaughters some 18,000 animals a minute, creating a waste stream full of blood, fecal bacteria, and disease-causing pathogens. 🧵
Common enough, but new to me: Cardinal Red Jumping Spider (Phiddipus cardinalis), NE Oklahoma.
Not to be confused with Phiddipus johnsoni (only half red). Behavior similar to Phiddipus audax (Bold jumping spider, all black). Beneficial species. Released back into the wild after this photo.
