Today is the 100th anniversary of Davis Day✨

Today we to join in remembering William Davis, a coal miner tragically killed in 1925 during a strike for better working conditions and fair wages in New Waterford. His death ignited a crucial turning point in Nova Scotia’s labour movement.

Davis Day today marks 100 years since William Davis was killed by company police during a strike. We honour those who stood the gaff and sacrificed so much for labour and human rights. And we remain committed to better wages and worker protections, and ending scab labour in NS.

Emergency rally taking place at Halifax city hall, tomorrow at 6:00pm. HRM needs to do the right thing and make sure these workers’ jobs and contract are upheld! #halifax

Honestly, if there was another platform to appropriately host a very active 65,000+ member & growing group of travellers to Cuba (about a third from the USA) @esooze.bsky.social and I would also abandon Zuckerberg’s platform & that of all rocket-ship billionaires.

But an email list will not cut it.

Thinking of travel to Cuba?

I’d welcome folks to join the 65,000+ member “Cuba Travel Tips” Facebook group that Suzanne ( @esooze.bsky.social) & I launched & co-administer.

It is entirely focused on *independent travel* in Cuba. 🇨🇺

*Not* on resorts, at all.
