The point is not for us to take joy in our work. The point is higher output, no matter what. More money, no matter what. More STUFF than the other guys, no matter what.

The people affected by said decisions are expendable afterthoughts.

I will gladly pay to play weird games of unknown quality but seem interesting, rather than playing the next "certified indie darling" or known-good release.

It's more fun to find the gems and discover the fun than just having "good" handed to you, in my opinion.

I mean, it makes perfect sense in terms of escalation. The current antidrug campaign in the continental US has been arresting and gunning down people, after all, for the crime of "driving while black" and such.
