Team, my job is to organize D- side money, I have seen bad ideas get funded and good ideas die on vine all based on how the resources move. Follow me for inside scoops. We’ve all got to get serious about how we fund at scale the depth of work needed to get out of this hell. ✌🏼

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

We felt like some of the #Persuasion2025 coverage, while much appreciated, fell short of getting across the bigger themes and ideas discussed at the event. This thought provoking @qasimrashid.com piece gets into some of the systemic and structural issues driving these patterns.

From Iraq to Trump to Gaza, America’s pundit class has perfected the art of being wrong and profiting from it. It’s long past time we hold them accountable.

This is Adelita Grijalva.

She was elected to Congress two weeks ago, officially making her the final vote needed to force the release of the Epstein files.

She has still not been sworn in because Mike Johnson refuses to do so.

The government is in full shutdown and the Republicans are refusing to call the House back into session.

Want to know why?

Because we have secured the final vote on releasing the Epstein Files and they don’t want it out.

Call GOP and tell them to swear in @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social.

This @perrybaconjr.bsky.social interview with @vanhollen.senate.gov was one of the #Persuasion2025 highlights. Don't miss the framing of the first question; that single question set the bullshit-free tone for the entire day.

“We need to go back to being a party that tells the truth. It’s the only way to rebuild the Democratic Party as the party of working people. In this race, the ground is fertile to build power locally and then build that into structural power.”

The core of the argument that ran through the whole day was the need move past defensive politics into a compelling vision that speaks to people’s real lives. Affordability. Security. Stability. As Graham Platner said during the event, “the big things.” And the opposite of what Trump is delivering.

According to a @washingtonpost.com poll, Americans blame Trump and Republicans in Congress for the shutdown by a 17-percentage-point margin.

Trump is pushing America into the fuck around and find out stage of history on so many levels— in today’s Trump foolery: what happens when we mess with our strongest state economies? I can’t see how this doesn’t immediately help competitors like China.
vanhollen.senate.gov
They are stealing taxpayer dollars from blue states because Democrats in Congress refuse to give Trump a blank check for his authoritarianism.

Corruption. Coercion. Blackmail. Lawlessness.

I won’t bend the knee to a wannabe dictator and his cronies. We will prevail.
