Make Money Not War: Trump’s Real Plan for Peace in Ukraine

The wheels are coming off for the Orange Jesus support train. Don't expect them to surrender too soon though. It is difficult to defeat loyalty drenched in emotion, and twice as hard to reason against it.

I have friends and family who are loyal Trumpers. I have avoided politics with them with the exception of the last election. I usually respond with "would all this be okay if he were a democrat?". It took my dad 20 years to admit Nixon was wrong. I hope the future holds more healing than division.

1) In a long overdue move, the Democratic Party is spending real money, 8 figures to go into the rural space they abandoned to the Republicans 20 years ago. Best of all, there's no sign they're going to give ground on important issues like racism. www.npr.org/2025/11/25/n...
Democrats plan a new investment in winning rural voters, who've fled the party
Democrats are announcing a new investment to win over voters in rural areas — where the party has suffered deep losses in recent elections — by leaning on an economic message.

There are high expectations for a record season of consumer spending, but about half the country is cutting back because of the chaos and uncertainty about the economy, higher prices, and the political knee-bending of major retailers and producers to the Orange Reich.
Let's spend like we're broke.

If you want a giant "this can't be happening" comparison, this move by the Orange One will be just as damaging as NAFTA was to American manufacturing in the nineties. No wonder the tech bros bought tickets for the Trump Train.
The surprising issue driving a wedge between Trump and his MAGA base
President Donald Trump’s attempt to block states from regulating AI sparked pushback from Republicans concerned the tech will displace workers and harm kids.

I promise you, a trip to Memphis, Beale Street, the Rendezvous BBQ, and a visit to watch the ducks at the Peabody Hotel is a wonderful trip for families and couple getaways. Tack on a visit to Graceland and you are set.

Indecision is a decision. A non-vote is a vote for whatever or whoever. People who do not vote essentially surrender their vote to those who do vote.
That is the most important reason to vote: you are voting for the others who will not or cannot vote. I am proudly voting for...
all of them.
Do you think every person of voting age should be required to vote by law?

I truly believe the majority of human beings want a better world and aren’t voting for it

Sometimes I wonder what comes next. Assuming that Trumpism will eventually fade and become a footnote on political movement history, what will the reinvention of the Democratic Party look like and how will the Republican Party shed Trumpism the way Reaganomics faded so quickly.

Democrats need to plan for what's next. At some point, we will have to pivot away from the Orange One (he really is a lame duck president come next fall) and offer the best alternative to MAGA-fied independents who voted for him.
Not empty ideas, but real, affordable solutions to a fairer economy.
