McNamara lied about the Vietnam War.
* The Pentagon Papers were published.
George W. Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction.
* None were found.
Donald J. Trump invented a war zone in Los Angelas, Chicago, and Portland.
* A president itching for a fight, somewhere, anywhere, to look tough.

My entire career, I’ve always put Virginians first — and that’s what I’ll do as Governor.

My mission is to bring down costs, improve our schools, and keep people safe. I’ve earned the support of Virginia police, firefighters, Democrats, and Republicans — and I hope to earn yours.

They can demonize science, media, government, and academia all they want, but science, media, government and academia will endure beyond them. Always have, always will. This administration found a way to say, "We're with Stupid" and get people to follow.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

"The Moral Strongman"
This is a good assessment of the rise of The Orange One and the unexpected embrace of the far-right Project 2025 blueprint for ruling America as an empire. One can argue he is only playing a part in a strongman thirst for power, but behind the curtains are even scarier people.
The Moral Strongman
The concepts of matriarchy and patriarchy are partly the idea that leadership styles can be stereotypically based around biological sex.

Other fun part of reposting this is that it's a reminder of the original Robert Kennedy

You cannot lead if you do not have the blessing of military leadership in any form of government. No matter how conservative military leadership may be, honor and integrity prevail.

It would be a shame if this went viral.

Over 800 top military brass sat quietly as Trump declared a new "war from within" — an American battlefield he claimed was more dangerous than any foreign war zone.

Trump eviscerated decades of civil-military restraint and proclaimed the armed forces his weapon of choice against domestic "enemies."

What an embarrassment. Lecturing grown adults about honor, integrity, and decorum by a draft dodger and a drunken frat boy reek of masculine overcompensation. Perhaps thirty to forty percent of the audience are "Trumpkins" and the rest are biting their tongues.
