Nightmare Tech-Fail Tuesday yesterday.
Delivering a webinar in the evening
1. Part of slide deck stops working due to software update
2. Automated audience reminder e-mails don't go out
3. Tech guy can't log into webinar platform
4. Screen-share quits halfway though.
Today has got to be better!

It seems subscriptions have reached normality so much, that my 11 year old kid (just started school summer hols) is trying to renegotiate his pocket-money.
He genuinely offered me the 3 levels of subscription in the picture. (I did the graphics and product naming!).
Which one would you choose?

This surely has to be a clear example of #carbrain. Don't get me wrong I love cars, but how can you only take a little action against a driver after they've clocked up 16 speed offences per year?
YES - SIXTEEN!
They should lose their license long before that point.

🚨 Stop Super Speeders just passed the State Senate!
The bill requires speed limiters in cars that receive at least 16 school zone speeding tickets in a year.
Drivers with 16 speed camera tickets are 2x as likely to be involved in a crash resulting in serious injury or death.

Official stats for GHG emissions from transport in 2023 released y/day by DfT.
Shows a) not much progress since 1990 (= vehicle efficiency gains offset by increasing traffic), b) lower emissions from cars post-pandemic (= behaviour change + EVs) and c) international aviation emissions on the way up

As British Steel tops the news with it looking like it'll be nationalised I thought I'd comment.
I'm not for or against nationalisation as a whole, but I feel part and temporary nationalisation might be the route taken. 🧵

Some more British Steel thoughts from me. 🧵🪡
First the trump tariffs. They aren’t great but probably not for the reasons most think. The problem is steel from international markets is now looking for a new home and that hurts prices and export competitiveness into Europe and elsewhere.

Some thoughts on the British Steel threats of closure and loss of steelmaking capability within the UK.
As is common the nuance is more complicated than the polarised news headlines suggest.

It'll probably come as no shock to anyone but whilst researching something for work I spotted this about #Tesla drivers: www.forbes.com/sites/steveb...
Tesla Again Has The Highest Accident Rate Of Any Auto Brand
Tesla is the car brand that a study shows has been involved in the most accidents. Tesla is well known for its self-driving system, which critics argue, is the problem.
