Cheaper to house then hate

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.
Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me
In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Why? The country applies the "Housing First" concept agains homelessness.

Interesting language in there. 30% feel unsafe, not 70% feel safe. If the city wants people to go downtown they really need to regulate their language.

I haven't seen it but I've read it more then once. Everyone should take a deep breath, walk The Long Walk and take another deep breath. We are there.

Honestly kicking kinda carried them. That's not the best situation to be in.

Can you imagine you, I and @ydbelanger.bsky.social all there? I think we would have been sent to Alligator Alcatraz. I didn't go because I assumed no one else was... also NFL.

Bruh. Let me know next time, I would have joined you. I've watched several of these now and there's not enough assholes booing the UCP from the back.

OMG I remember this show! I always wondered if it was a fever dream! It was such a wild ride and 100% a sign of the times.

It was one of the most psychedelic, bizarre and beloved Canadian children's shows ever made.
Structured like a sketch comedy show around the comedic genius of Billy Van, it is well remembered even to this day.
This is the story of The Hilarious House of Frightenstein!

🧵 1/19
A colorful poster for "The Frightenstein Frightmare," featuring a collage of various monster and character faces, including a prominent green-faced figure with fangs, a werewolf, a Frankenstein-like figure, a superhero, and other eerie and whimsical characters, with the title in bold yellow and red text at the bottom.

He's the President, let's be real. Could have been any of 100 things he was called into private for.

Legit, f--- everyone talking about Kirk. There was literally a school shooting today with multiple deaths.
trashpandad.bsky.social
And the school shooting? Oh yeah, no one gives a shit about kids. Only about famous people. Thoughts and prayers for kids... at best. Maybe.

These municipalities have their councils that care about the area, that know about the area and understand the area. They can concentrate on challenges they understand. With amalgamation that become just some hood suburb that gets ZERO care.

Doesn't China's renewables produce more energy then all of Germany in every capacity? I thought I saw something recently about how absolutely insane their renewable production was

I have, perhaps, my most important question ever to ask on this platform. Do Transformers have health insurance or automobile insurance?

Uleth has lots of experiential learning opportunities in research, applied studies, etc. I can't imagine how I would have been able to have any of those if I wasn't in person. They've enchanged my Uni experience as an older student so massively. I can't quit putting over how awesome they are.
trashpandad.bsky.social
It's so important that University is in person. You learn better, you understand better and you get all the other important social skills and cue reading. It's a foundational experience that online lectures don't give.

It might be a Canadian thing. We also checked Crazy Horse and did some cave dives before. But it was... sorta lame and performative.

I was in the US, in Minnesota and Wisconsin wrestling. So we decided to drive back that way on our way to Alberta and check it out. Holy shit it was so disappointing.
