The Complete Adelessa touches on Vita Sackville-West's book for a library in a dollhouse, and how irl one of the biggest experts on her said it doesn't reflect her, herself, even though it's about a genderqueer fun-loving faerie traveling the world living in doll houses. I'm thinking about it again.

In The Return of Bruce Wayne, as time moves around him, Bruce doesn't really acclimate to any era, doesn't change his way of talking, behaving, except when he's in the era of his childhood, a retro-40s 1970s. He reverts. Like jumping back 30 years & growing your own Cat in the Hat hat & glow sticks.

John Constantine meets Stephen Strange. It treats John's coat as a novelty. They basically stand and talk about nothing of consequence. One is edgy, but doesn't do anything edgy. The other is stuffy, but only so much. This had three credited writers. The art is good. It has fun layouts.

I've been notified, today, that one of the major comics piracy outfits will release copies of things I mention in essays right after, and was asked if I am they. I realize this is exactly what they would say, but I am not.

It's all about who you're related to and who you know. For instance, recently I've heard two variations of "we're sorry, we thought you were your mother," and this week, though someone was really interested in my work but what they wanted was a better way to contact Joy Harjo.

Scary True Stories is such a fun movie. Jumpstarted Japanese horror and particular trends and unafraid to put a gag story right up against something horrible. And, it feels like David Lynch-y soundscape stuff broke in, for Japan, here.

Red beans and chicken. I just saw someone who was elected to office as a Democrat admit that until Covid they treated politics as a sport and now it's "the left" is going to drive them right. I deserve this.
