I want more books by more presses publishing more authors and more diverse representation with less expectations of blockbusters with more presses getting equal shot at promotion by awards and media, sold by more independent bookstores and less conglomerates and a lot less fascism while we're at it

TO BE CLEAR this is not meant to be shade at ANY publisher I work with. Every single one of them has been a joy I'd drop everything to work with again. This is just the reality of doing anything creative.
Just for some personal numbers: I get up at 5, write until 7, drive to work (eating in the car), get home at 5 (again, usually eating in the car), do chores, hopefully write again if I'm not too tired, before passing out around 9. Every writer I know is living some version of this.
No, authors aren't burnt out because "writing without AI is slow"
We're burnt out because we're paid dirt so we need day jobs to survive

TO BE CLEAR this is not meant to be shade at ANY publisher I work with. Every single one of them has been a joy I'd drop everything to work with again. This is just the reality of doing anything creative.
